This project included the construction and installation of a 4.2-million-gallon steel thermal energy storage tank with a 9,000-square-foot base and a 15-footwide road around the tank. Additional work associated with the TES tank included site work, drilled piers, structural slab, insulation systems, guardrail to protect the tank, tapings for piping, and controls for filling and testing. This project is part of an energy efficiency initiative. With the completion of this project, the owner has one of the most cost-effective and economical central heating and power district energy plants in the world.
