Concho Moore

Project Engineer / Austin

When Concho Moore came to Flintco, he had to upgrade his wardrobe. For 20 years, he wore the same thing every day — his U.S. Army uniform.

Flintco hired Concho as a Project Engineer in 2018 through the Hiring Our Heroes program, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting veterans to training, resources and potential employers to help leverage their skills and experience.

Concho enjoyed a rich military career after enlisiting in 1998. He completed two tours of duty in Iraq, one in Afghanistan and was also deployed to Kuwait and Jordan. Concho finished his military career with the rank of Major and was selected to attend the prestigious Intermediate Level Education program; he declined in order to pursue a second career in construction.

Concho said moving from the Army to Flintco has been “an easy transition.”

“As an Infantry Officer, you deal with a lot of similar things — the only difference is the technology and the terminology of construction,” he said. “I could tell immediately Flintco was the right environment for me. The people here are friendly, but when it’s time for business, we make it happen.”

Concho earned a Master’s of Business Administration from Texas A&M University – Central Texas, and a Bachelor’s of Applied Science from Austin Peay State University. He enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and visiting U.S. National Parks with his wife and two children.
