Phyllis Rivers
Office Manager / Tulsa
Phyllis Rivers has been an invaluable presence at Flintco’s Tulsa office for more than 23 years. When asked why she’s enjoyed working at Flintco for so long, her answer is immediate — “the people — and its Native American roots.”
Phyllis, who is a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, said Flintco’s long history in Tulsa was appealing. “Flintco felt like it had a family feel,” she said. Phyllis studied computer science at Tulsa Community College and juggled working at a bank and raising her two children with her husband, Larry. She met another longtime Flintco employee, Paula Stark, who recruited her to work in Flintco’s finance department.
Phyllis began in accounting and hourly payroll then worked as a financial coordinator and as an administrative assistant. She was promoted to Office Manager in 2021 and enjoys managing Flintco’s new office in the heart of the Greenwood District in downtown Tulsa. Most recently, Phyllis coordinated Flintco’s participation in the 2022 Martin Luther King, Jr. parade – held annually within walking distance from the office. “I’ve been going to the parade for years and years,” she said. “I’ve been hoping Flintco would have a float for a long time – and I’m so happy we did it.”
A Tulsa native, Phyllis has been active at Morningstar Baptist Church for more than 50 years, serving as president of the Usher Board, on the board of the church’s federal credit union, and a longtime member of the choir. She travels annually to the Oklahoma Baptist State Convention, where she serves as registrar for her church’s participants.
